Russian fighter Albert Duraev lost to American Joaquin Buckley in a duel at the UFC on ESPN 37 tournament, which took place in Austin (Texas).
The fight ended with Buckley’s victory by technical knockout – the doctors did not allow Duraev to enter the third round due to problems with his left eye.
Both fighters have 15 wins and four losses in their careers in mixed martial arts.
The UFC has a new light heavyweight champion.
Buckley’s knockout in a duel with Impa Kasanganay was recognized as the best in 2020 in the UFC. Kasanganay grabbed the opponent’s leg when he tried to punch him in the head, but Buckley was then able to strike with his second leg.
In the main fight of the tournament in Austin, Americans Calvin Kattar (fourth number in the UFC featherweight rating) and Josh Emmett (number seven) met. In the end, Emmett won by split decision.
