Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova withdrew from the WTA tournament in Bad Homburg, Germany with a prize fund of €203,000. reported on Twitter of the tournament.
“Unfortunately, Kudermetova will not be able to enter the court due to a back injury. In the main draw, she will be replaced by Japanese Misaki Doi, ”the message says.
Kudermetova was seeded at the tournament under the fifth number. On June 19, in the first round, she was supposed to play a match against compatriot Anna Kalinskaya. Now Frenchwoman Alize Cornet will play with Kalinskaya.
Kudermetova played three matches in a day and lost in two WTA tournaments
Kudermetova has played 11 matches over the past nine days (including doubles). This week she reached the 1/4 finals of the tournament in Berlin, where she lost to Swiss Belinda Bencic.
Kudermetova takes 24th place in the world ranking. She is now the second racket of Russia, on account of the tennis player one WTA title in singles.
