Spartak Moscow striker Alexander Sobolev commented on the episode in the fourth round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Ural, in which he missed an empty net from a few meters.
Sobolev could score at the beginning of the second half, when Quincy Promes burst into the Ural penalty area and shot on goal. The goalkeeper of the hosts Ilya Pomazun parried the blow, but the ball bounced on the leg of Sobolev, who was a few meters in front of an empty goal. The striker tried to finish off the ball into the goal, but the projectile flew past the target.

Spartak won the third victory in a row and came out on top in the RPL
The match “Ural” – “Spartak” took place on the afternoon of August 6 in Yekaterinburg and ended with the victory of the guests with a score of 2:0. Goals were scored by Quincy Promes and Mikhail Ignatov. In episodes with both goals, Sobolev made assists. His recognized best player of the match.
Thanks to this victory, Spartak climbed to first place in the table. A few hours later, the “red-whites” were displaced from the first line by CSKA, which defeated Fakel at home (4:1). Both metropolitan teams can go down in the table if Zenit wins the away game against Akhmat.
