In the Nations League we didn’t lose a single match. We were glorious. We hope to become champions of that group and go through in the World Cup too”, said Van Gaal.
The coach also completed by talking about the new formation that the Netherlands should use in the World Cup in Qatar, but the commander stressed that he will change the team depending on the opponent: “Now, we will probably play with 3-4-3 in the World Cup , but it also depends on the opponent, of course. And you can use it in many ways”, he added.
The Dutch national team is in Group A of the 2022 World Cup, alongside Senegal, Ecuador and the hosts, Qatar. In short, the Dutch arrive at the tournament as favorites to advance at the top of the group to the round of 16. However, Van Gaal believes that the Netherlands can go further in this World Cup.
“I have a vision and I try to pass that on to these players. Of course we have to deal with it, because otherwise it won’t work. I think we have to do the best we can, and that’s how we can become world champions. Well, this is quite a process. This is not easy and I have been trying”, concluded the commander.
