At the end of May, the news became known that Beerschot said goodbye to Patrick Nys as trainer of the goalkeepers. They didn’t have to wait long for a replacement because de Mannekes just introduced Tome Pačovski (39) as the new goalkeeper coach.

The Olympic Stadium is not unfamiliar territory for the Macedonian. After a passage as goalkeeper (2009 – 2012), Pačovski has been the goalkeeper coach of the U18 and the U23 team in recent years.
An interview he gave last year shows that Pacovski took his job as a goalkeeper coach with the U18 very seriously: “I firmly believe in our academy. It is my ambition to use my experience to prepare the goalkeepers for the first team in due course. It’s the hardest job in modern football.”
They also realized this at Beerschot: “Tome is someone who knows the house, carries the Beerschot DNA and also received a lot of respect as a player here. In short, he is the perfect goalkeeper coach for our technical staff”, says Technical Manager Sander Van Praet.
“I am also very proud that I can take this step from the academy to the first team,” says Pačovski. “In the meantime, I have also been living in Aartselaar for a number of years and my two sons also play football at Beerschot. It really is ‘my club’. Being able to start here as a goalkeeper coach is a dream come true.”
