Ben Brereton Díaz hears sirens from Tottenham and the specialized press assures that the player could be the perfect substitute for Harry Kane in a season of high demand for the center forward and captain of the English team. Should Ben 10 change clubs to take advantage of the minutes left free by the team’s top star?

The news of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Ben Brereton Díaz has been ratified by the London press. The Blackburn Rovers striker is a serious alternative for a team that sees the Chilean national team as the right card to fulfill a role that is far from simple: being the shadow of England’s top scorer, Harry Kane.

For this reason, the sporting director of the Spurs, Fabio Paratici, is on top of every possible move on Ben 10. Although Kane is captain of the English team and an untouchable reference for the London team, manager Antonio Conte detected the need for an alternative that shade him.

For what reason? In the last campaign, The Hurricane had a lukewarm start and it was only in the second part of the season that they exploited their full scoring potential, which until then had been well covered by Son Heung-Min. Kane scored two-thirds of his goals between January and May, and is the only one in the squad without a substitute.

In recent years, the only one who could occupy that position was the extreme Steven Bergwijn, but the one from the Netherlands has been relegated by the current coach and wants to look for new horizons, while Conte requires a more complete alternative and that at the same time can enhance your game with a figure of the stature of Kane.

Brereton’s progress alongside Kane

Tottenham Hotspur may give Ben Brereton the chance to jump from British football’s silver division to European football’s top competition, the Champions League, in a matter of months. And there are expectations, precisely validated by the takeoff that the striker had when he began to be international for the Chilean team.

Added to this is the possibility of sharing functions with Harry Kane, one of the most effective center forwards in the Old Continent and who will have a very busy schedule with the presence of England in the next World Cup in Qatar 2022. Experts say that if Ben wants the substitute role, the position is yours.

“At only 23 years old (Kane is 28), the Chilean striker undoubtedly has the potential for further development in his professional career. And there are not many mentors who are more qualified in the center forward role than Kane”, analyzes George McGibbon, specialist from Football Fancast.

The truth is that an appraisal close to 16 million euros does not seem unapproachable for a team that, before entering the red zone of the market window, already incorporated Iván Perisic and Fraser Forster to double the positions of extreme left and goalkeeper, respectively, and also Yves Bissouma to alternate as a midfielder.
