Silver medalist of the Beijing Olympics in women’s singles Alexandra Trusova believes that it is better to complete five quadruple jumps than to have 1 million followers on Instagram (Meta, the owner of the social network, is recognized as an extremist organization in Russia and banned). She told reporters about this after the short program at the fifth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Samara.
Trusova in early November reached the mark of 1 million followers on Instagram, the fourth of the Russian figure skaters. Evgenia Medvedeva now has 1.3 million subscribers, Alina Zagitova – 1.1 million, Kamila Valieva – 1.1 million.
“I am very pleased to have so many subscribers, thank you very much,” quotes TASS Trusov.
When asked which is better – five quadruples or 1 million subscribers, Trusova said: “The answer is obvious. Five quadruples is difficult, all over the world only a few can do it, and there are a lot of people who have a million subscribers.
Trusova in the short program in Samara showed the third result, losing to Sofya Samodelkina and Anna Frolova. The singles free program will be shown on November 20.
The 18-year-old figure skater is a silver medalist at the Beijing Games, a bronze medalist at the 2021 World Championships and a two-time bronze medalist at the European Championships (2020, 2022). In Beijing, she became the first figure skater in history to complete five quadruple jumps in one free program without falling.
