If the fight between the Russians Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev for the title of absolute world champion takes place, it will become a real battle of the titans. This was announced to RBC Sport by the former absolute world boxing champion Konstantin Tszyu. Earlier, Beterbiev announced his desire to fight Bivol, the latter expressed his readiness to fight.

“I feel crazy proud of Arthur, his classic fight, the preparation in the first round, the knockdown at the end and the completion in the second is his style. Beterbiev’s feature with 100% knockouts is a strong thing, but the main thing is that it does not play a negative role for him in subsequent fights. A certain confidence can grow into overconfidence. And so, at the moment he is the absolute champion. I would really like to see him fight Bivol. It will be very cool. It is difficult to single out a clear favorite here, as a matter of fact there is none. It will be a battle of two titans,” said Tszyu.

Bivol expressed readiness to fight with Beterbiev for the world title

Bivol in his last fight on May 8 defeated the Mexican Saul Alvarez, the absolute world champion in the super middleweight division. Alvarez has the right to a rematch.

On June 19, Beterbiev defeated American Joe Smith Jr. by technical knockout in the second round. He is the WBC and IBF light heavyweight champion, and the WBO title that belonged to Smith also departed to the Russian.

To become the absolute world boxing champion, Artur Beterbiev needs to become the world champion according to all four international associations (WBC, IBF, WBO and WBA). Beterbiev has the first three championship belts, and Dmitry Bivol is the WBA world champion.

After the victory, Beterbiev announced that he wanted to fight Bivol. The winner of this potential bout could become the undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world.

Later, Russian WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol also expressed his willingness to fight Beterbiev for the undisputed world boxing title.
