The Ukrainian eSports team Natus Vincere (NAVI) in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) won a major tournament – BLAST Premier: Spring Finals. In the decisive match, NAVI defeated the French Team Vitality with a score of 2:0.
For this victory, NAVI received $200,000 in prize money and a ticket to the final tournament of the series with a prize pool of $1 million, which will be held in December.
The Ukrainian cyber team fired the Russian because of “reputational risks”
For NAVI, this was the first tournament that the team held without Russian Kirill Mikhailov (Boombl4), who was the captain. At the end of May, he was fired due to “high reputational risks.”
Mikhailov has been playing for NAVI since March 2019. With him, the team won several major tournaments, including the first major (the most prestigious CS: GO tournaments) in the history of the organization – PGL Major Stockholm 2021. The team received $1 million in prize money for the victory in Stockholm.
There are still two Russians left in the team – Ilya Zalutsky (Perfecto) and Denis Sharipov (electronic).
