The pros from VfB Stuttgart have completed the third day of training during the trip to the USA. Not only exercises on the soccer field were on the program.

If you are a tourist in Austin, you can experience a lot – even in a single day. This also applies to clubs in the Bundesliga. In any case, the program of VfB Stuttgart on Thursday was quite extensive.

First, however, on the third day after arriving in the USA, it was time to defy the tiredness again. On Wednesday evening, the VfB team was a guest at the Dallas Mavericks’ home game. Later in the evening we went back to Austin, which is why no player got to bed before 2am. On Thursday, the third training session so far during the trip to the USA was only scheduled for 1 p.m. But there was another reason.

Anyone who reached the site a few minutes before the start of training in Stuttgart at St. David’s Performance Center saw the new guests with whom VfB now has to share the training site. The players of 1. FC Köln completed their first session in the USA, VfB’s Bundesliga opponents arrived in the USA on Wednesday.

Two appointments for the fans

Numerous VfB fans had arrived at the training ground before the session began, and the session on Thursday was finally announced as a public one. And so the American supporters of VfB, some of whom had come from all over the country, mingled with those who had traveled from Germany with their favorite club. Around 150 spectators came. In the evening they met again at the fan meeting in the heart of Austin at the invitation of the German-Texan Heritage Society.

Before that, the VfB pros completed another rather easy session – this time on the artificial turf of the small stadium at the Austin FC training ground. On Friday (10 a.m. local time) they return there one last time before the friendly against 1. FC Köln on Saturday.

After training, some VfB pros still had PR appointments. Luca Pfeiffer and Juan José Perea visited an Irish pub that regularly broadcasts Bundesliga games live. Meanwhile, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Dan-Axel Zagadou, together with some colleagues from Cologne, advertised the game on Saturday in the Q2 stadium.
