The draft rules on the disqualification of Russian gymnasts in case of overestimated marks at competitions are at the stage of discussion in the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics (VFCG), since the problem has been brewing for a long time. Irina Viner, President of the WFHG, announced this to RBC Sport.

“At the moment, the project on the disqualification of athletes in case of inflated marks is under discussion. There are currently no introduction dates. We will resolve these issues in the new year, there is still a lot to be done to update our federation structures,” Viner said.

Viner noted that gymnasts may not be disqualified if judges or coaches are the initiators of inflated marks. “If coaches or judges are the initiators for raising points, athletes will not be responsible for their sins. We will punish only coaches and referees. Let’s leave the gymnasts alone. Still under discussion. However, it is necessary to talk about this, such a problem has long been overdue,” she said.

In the telegram channel of blogger Elena Krupina on November 18 was published a video in which Irina Viner announced the development of a document with the disqualification of Russian gymnasts for two years in case of inflated marks at competitions. “We are preparing a document that says that we will selectively adjudicate competitions. And if we see the points drawn, then we will punish the gymnast. This girl will not be able to fulfill the standard for two years, ”Viner said.
