The next challenge for Leão da Ilha is on Sunday (19), against Fluminense, at Maracanã
Homework done. Avaí passed Fortaleza well on Thursday night (16), in Ressacada, and approached the G-4 of the Brasileirão. Leão da Ilha beat Tricolor 3-2, with goals from Muriqui and Bissoli, and ended the 12th round in seventh place, one point behind G-4.
Leão’s second consecutive triumph was praised by the team’s coach, Eduardo Barroca. “The victory was very important for us in the championship, it represents the collective work that the club is having. It is the result of the merit of the dedication of the players”, commented Barroca. The coach now projects the Club’s next challenge in the Brazilian, against Fluminense:
“I want to highlight the power of reaction of the group of players for this important victory. But we cannot afford to celebrate because we have a tough battle on Sunday,” he concluded.
Avaí visits Fluminense at 7pm next Sunday, at Maracanã, in a match valid for the 13th round of Serie A of the Brazilian Championship. In seventh place, Leão sees fourth-placed Athletico-PR just a point ahead
