"We have pending things": Alejandro Duarte's message after renewing with Sporting Cristal

In recent days there was uncertainty around Sporting Cristal, especially with the departures of Omar Merlo and Horacio Calcaterra. However, the celestial institution was also in charge of informing who will continue in the 2023 sports project, where they will participate in League 1 and the previous phase of the Copa Libertadores. So, at Rímac they made it clear that they follow to the letter the phrase that every team builds up from behind to forward, and they renewed Alexander Duarte.

The national goalkeeper is aware that nobody will give anything to Sporting Cristal in 2023, for which reason he will seek to push himself to the maximum, with the aim of giving the best to the institution that once again placed their trust in him for the next season.

“Very happy with the decision to stay at this great club, which I am going to train every day with joy and enthusiasm. We have pending things to fight for and have no doubt that we will do our best to achieve them”said the goalkeeper on his social networks.

Alexander Duarte He arrived at Rímac in 2021, after his brief stint at Sportivo Luqueño in Paraguay. And in two seasons, the goalkeeper has played a total of 51 duels. Now, for next year, it only remains to see who will accompany him in the position: Tiago Nunes, the DT made official this Wednesday, will have to choose between Renato Solís, Diego Enríquez and Matías Córdova. There will be competition between the players.

Departures at Sporting Cristal

The central Omar Merlo (another of the references like Calcaterra); the flyers José María Inga, Ayran Romaní; and the attackers Jhon Marchán, Christopher Olivares will not continue in the Bajo Pontina institution in 2023. Prior to these decisions, the club had already reported that Roberto Mosquera’s cycle was not enough.

Be careful, in the case of ‘Calca’, the midfielder came to Peruvian football at the hands of Unión Comercio (2011) and was national champion with Sporting Cristal in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. Last year, he also lifted the Copa Bicentenario trophy.
