The Winter Bonus is a non-applicable state benefit delivered by the Social Security Institute (IPS) to older adults who receive low pensions and meet the requirements.

This money is delivered on a single occasion during this year 2022 and the amount is $70,336value that is not taxable, that is, it will reach your pocket completely.

What are the requirements to receive the 2022 Winter Bonus?

Remember that the Winter Bonus is not eligible, but you will receive the money if you meet the following requirements:

  • Have 65 years of age or older Completed as of May 1, 2022.
  • receive a pension less than or equal to the value of the minimum old-age pension valid for people over 75 years of age, which is $182,167. This value is without including the Old Age Solidarity Pension Contribution (APSV) or Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU), if any.
  • Be in the AFP system and insurance companies that receive minimum pensions with a state guarantee or APSV; or whatever beneficiaries of the PGU; or are retired in any of these institutions: Social Welfare Institute (as the former INP; that is, the former pay-as-you-go funds), Labor Security Institute (ISL), Chilean Carabineros Welfare Directorate (Dipreca), Social Security Fund the National Defense (Capredena) or mutual employers.

In the case of those who receive two pensions or more will not be able to apply for this bonusunless the sum of these is equal to or less than $182,167.

When do they pay the Winter Bonus 2022?

The Winter Bonus is paid once during the month of May. The money is delivered automatically together with the pension of the beneficiary.
