World Cup: England crush Iran 6-1 for their entry into the running (VIDEOS)

From the fourth minute of play, an English corner overcame the Iranian penalty area as Maguire collapsed after being belted by an Iranian defender, but neither the Brazilian referee nor the VAR intervened.

In the 8th minute, Sterling was a little too short to take a cross from the right when Maguire failed to straighten the trajectory of the ball at the far post. An action on which Beiranvand, the Iranian goalkeeper, injured his head in contact with one of his teammates. He had to give way to Hosseini.

In the 32nd minute, a new corner set fire to the Iranian rectangle with a header from Maguire which hit the crossbar. But it was only a postponement since Jude Bellingham opened the scoring with a header on a perfect cross from Luke Shaw (1-0, 35th).

In the 44th minute, on a new corner, Saka succeeded perfectly with his volley on a delivery from Maguire (2-0).

Two minutes later, Kane served Sterling superbly on the counterattack. The Chelsea striker managed his deflection with the outside of his foot and already killed all suspense (3-0).

The start of the second half was less rhythmic. The many Iranian faults broke the game but the English maintained their domination, being only very rarely worried by their opponent.

It was not until the 62nd minute to see the Three Lions drive the point home, via a double from Bukayo Saka which concluded with a shot from the left after fixing two defenders (4-0).

In the process, Mehdi Taremi saved the honor of his family with a nice shot under the bar, on an assist from Carolo Gholizadeh (4-1).

In the 71st minute, Marcus Rashford managed the feat of scoring on his first ball, after a good service from Kane (5-1).

In the 90th minute, Wilson went behind the Iranian defense and was very altruistic by serving Grealish, alone against the empty goal, to increase the score (6-1).

At the very last of … 10 minutes of additional time, Pickford came out of the stoppage of the match in front of Azmoun to push back the sending of the Leverkusen striker on his crossbar. In the process, Stones was guilty of a shirt pulling in the rectangle, allowing Iran to soften the mark and Taremi to offer himself a double (6-2).
