The Special Court of the STJ determined, on Wednesday, the maintenance of the blockade of 277 million reais in assets linked to the governor of Mato Grosso do Sul, Reinaldo Azambuja (PSDB), family members and a company linked to him.
The decision meets the request of the Federal Public Ministry in a complaint filed in October 2020.
According to the indictment, the toucan and others involved would have received 67 million reais in bribes, between 2014 and 2016, from businessmen Joesley and Wesley Batista, from JBS. In return, says the Attorney, the group would have received 209 million reais in benefits and tax exemptions.
In addition to Azambuja and the Batista brothers, the formerSecretary of Finance and current counselor of the State Court of Accounts, Márcio Campos Monteiro, and 20 other people also respond for the crimes of active and passive corruption, money laundering and criminal organization.
