President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev allowedthat Daniil Medvedev and Andrei Rublev will miss the upcoming Kremlin Cup.

“It is clear that Medvedev is tired – this is normal. When he comes, we will figure out whether he will play or not. We have signed a participation agreement with all the players. I think Medvedev will play in the Kremlin Cup from the first day, but it will be possible to say for sure only after he arrives, ”Tarpischev told Sport24.

According to Tarpishchev, Rublev caught a cold, so his participation in the Kremlin Cup is still in question. “All the players will be in Moscow, they will come, and we will decide. Everyone has signed contracts. Rublev wants to play 100%, he is the winner of the last tournament. But he caught a cold playing the Masters doubles today at Indian Wells. Therefore, it is not yet possible to say whether he will get sick or not. We hope that it will work out and everything will be fine, ”the head of the federation noted.

The second racket of the world Medvedev on Wednesday lost to the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round of the Masters tournament in the American city of Indian Wells. After the meeting, the Russian noted his fatigue and statedthat will decide on participation in the tournament in Moscow by October 15th.

The fifth racket of the world Rublev in Indian Wells lost in the third round to American Tommy Paul. Together with Aslan Karatsev, he will play in the quarterfinals on Thursday against Rohan Bopanna from India and Canadian Denis Shapovalov.

The Kremlin Cup will be held in Moscow on October 16-24. Tarpishchev previously stated that Medvedev could skip these competitions if he goes far at the Indian Wells tournament.
