The duo Smout-Oveneke, together with sporting manager Guy Muya and physical coach Koen Embrechts Telenet Giants Antwerp, will initially prepare for the quarterfinals of the Belgian Cup (21 and 23 January) and versus Kangaroos Mechelen. “We would especially like to thank Christophe for all the work done in these difficult corona times. We wish him every success in the future. In the coming days we will be intensively looking for a replacement. Christophe Beghin was a player with the Giants from 2008 to 2010 and in the 2016-17 season. From 2017 to 2019 he was an assistant coach under Roel Moors. In 2019 Christophe Beghin became coach of Telenet Giants Antwerp. Luc Smout also has a long history with the Antwerp club. From 1995 to 2000 he was an assistant, coach of the second team and youth coach. He also filled that position from 2008 to 2019 at Telenet Giants Antwerp.
