The American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has so far collected 1.3 million pre-orders for the Cybertruck pickup, their number continues to grow even though the start of its production was delayed by at least a year, and during this period an all-electric pickup of the same class has been released Ford and General Motors and Rivian are about to launch.

The staggering number of orders is largely the result of the availability of the offer – anyone can leave an application for a car, who can back it up with only 100 dollars (about 7.3 thousand rubles).

On the demand for the next payment, two-thirds of the orders will be eliminated. But there is no doubt that the volume of valid applications for Cybertruck from the start of production will stretch into a queue of expectations for many months or even years.

As noted Electrek, taking into account the estimated average pickup price of 58 thousand dollars, the hypothetical backlog of orders for the model is now in the amount of 80 billion dollars.

Recall that Tesla Cybertruck was presented in 2019. It will be available in three versions – with one electric motor and rear-wheel drive, with two electric motors and four-wheel drive, or with three electric motors and four-wheel drive.

From standstill to 60 mph (96 km / h), the pickup in the top version accelerates in just 2.9 seconds. The power reserve varies from 400 to 800 km, depending on the modification. The carrying capacity of the electric truck is 1587 kg (like the GAZelle), and this is a common figure for all three versions. The top version of the Cybertruck has a maximum towed trailer weight of an impressive 6,350 kg.
