With an extensive program of activities that includes tributes, conferences, panels and literary, scenic and musical presentations, the 39th edition of the Holguin Culture Week begins, which will combine face-to-face spaces with digital transmissions until the next day 19.

Considered the biggest festival of Holguín and the oldest cultural event held in the main municipality, the Week is dedicated to the city’s 270th birthday, to health workers as well-deserved recognition of their work in confronting COVID -19, and the historian and cultural promoter David Gómez.

The conference will promote artistic activities in communities, universities, schools, grandparents’ homes, work centers and the system of cultural institutions, in correspondence with these preventive measures, said the directive.

Among the actions of the Week, the study cycles of the Holguin culture, the City Hall, the literary space With smell of ink, the VIII Research Event on Cultural Heritage of the Territory, and the tributes to prominent and recognized personalities stand out. this edition.

He also highlighted the holding of the XXXII Meeting of the Wars of Independence and the City Award, which this year convened 12 categories, including music, plastic arts, literature, history, written press and institutional communication, stimulating the artistic and intellectual movement of Holguín and the country.

This great popular festival, organized by the Municipal Culture Sector and other institutions of the province, will also recognize the Illustrious and Outstanding Sons on the 270th anniversary of the granting of the Title of City and Government Tenure to Holguín.
