The “Thorvaldson” is heading for the Arctic, where a particularly large number of Yrr signals have been located. Because Anawak (Joshua Odjick) and Crowe (Sharon Duncan-Brewster) believe in a way to communicate with the Yrr right there. To test the equipment, diving robotics expert Luther Roscovitz (Klaas Heufer-Umlauf) and Charlie (Leonie Benesch) undertake a submarine test drive into the depths. Simultaneously, Anawak and Crowe send out their signal for the Yrr. Although Roscovitz and Charlie briefly lose contact with the “Thorvaldson”, they return safely through an opening in the ship’s hull, the Moonpool. There, data analyst Alicia Delaware (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) pauses alone for a moment and notices a strange glow in the pool.
