The government will allocate over 74 billion rubles for a project to build new schools in 34 Russian regions. The corresponding order was signed by the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin. This was announced on Saturday, September 25, at the press service of the Cabinet.
“34 regions will receive subsidies. All of them confirmed their readiness for the forthcoming work … In addition to federal money, the regions themselves will allocate funds for the construction of schools. They plan to attract additional investors to the work, ”the statement says.
It is noted that they plan to build 128 modern schools with the allocated funds in the coming years, and more than 93.7 thousand additional educational places will appear. In total, 234.7 billion rubles are going to be allocated from the federal budget for the construction of schools in 2021-2024 as part of the state program “Development of Education”.
The relevant work is being carried out on behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Earlier, the Cabinet was instructed to calculate the need for additional places in educational institutions against the background of an increase in the number of schoolchildren in the country.
We will remind, earlier the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin said that in two years on the territory of Russia at least three thousand schools will be repaired in two years. Not long before this, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education Sergey Kravtsov said that rural schools in Russia will be equipped with the necessary equipment until 2024.
