Speaker of the upper house of the Russian parliament Valentina Matvienko praised the bright speech of her Belarusian colleague Natalya Kochanova at the Tauride Palace on October 14. The conversation of the parliamentary leaders took place on the sidelines of the third Eurasian Women’s Forum, which started on Thursday in the city on the Neva. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I am very glad that you have come. Believe me, this is very important for our community as a whole. By the way, all the speakers have arrived,” the hostess of the forum clarified, stressing that the speech of the Belarusian speaker with an objective picture of what is happening in the country and how it assesses it. Natalia Kochanova, clarifies BELTA, spoke at the plenary session on the topic “The mission of women in the development of diplomacy of peace and trust.”
Thanking Valentina Matvienko for the great idea to unite women from all over the world in solving global problems, her counterpart was forced to admit that, unfortunately, their number is not decreasing. “From year to year, absolutely new tasks appear before us, which we must solve. And only together we can really make sure that we are heard,” the Belarusian politician stated.
The forum, which has been held since 2015, observers note, has established itself as a status international platform for discussing topical issues of the international agenda and the role of women in its implementation. This year it gathered more than three hundred heads of legislative and executive bodies of power, international organizations, business circles, representatives of the scientific community, public organizations from 105 countries.
By the way, while maintaining continuity, the next Eurasian Forum follows the ideas of integration and development of cooperation to enhance the role of women in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the formation of new approaches to solving global problems dictated by political, economic, technological, social and environmental changes.
The program of the forum, the agency reports, includes plenary sessions, strategic sessions, expert and discussion platforms, including with opinion leaders, parity discussions, public-private dialogues and business dialogues, foresight sessions, webinars and business breakfasts.
