The Intendant Walter Vuoto together with the representatives of the unions ATE, ASEOM, SADEM, Hierarchical Personnel, UPCN, SEMUP, SOEM and Non-Union members signed the joint act agreeing on the fourth tranche of salary recomposition started in February 2021, by a 11% from October. The increase has character bonus and remunerative, impacting all the employment contracts of the Municipality.
With this increase, the salary readjustment for the year 2021 stands at 41%, which confirms that during the last 6 consecutive years, the Municipality of Ushuaia was the provincial public body that granted higher increases to workers.
The negotiation and the joint agreement for the second semester was brought forward at the request of the unions to the month of September, so that the increase has an impact as of October for all ranks.
Mayor Walter Vuoto recalled “the path we have traveled in these two administrations, in which it was hard for us to start because of what we received and that when we got off the ground, a pandemic caught us head-on. Likewise, it stated that “the unions know the numbers of the MunicipalityThey know that the pandemic hit us very hard and that we made a great effort to accompany taxpayers; and that in addition, from the policy of the municipal state of Ushuaia we also made an effort during the first two years in which we suspended the increase for civil servants and today we give the exampleSince our employees are the ones who charge the least, this is a way of setting an example ”.
In this sense, Vuoto stressed that “we are making an effort, advancing the agreement, because also We believe that it is an advance for workers. And it is not only a question of salary, but we are also on all issues, accompanying the needs of our workers ”.
For this reason, and in response to demands from the unions, as of January 1, 2022 the additional monthly sum per title equivalent to a percentage of the Conventional Minimum Wage of the 17% for secondary degrees and 39% for university degrees.
Another of the rights recognized by the Municipality is the special family care leave of child and adolescent cancer patients, whereby workers caring for children or young people who suffer from oncological diseases will be licensed by the term of one year, extendable, until the end of the treatment, with full enjoyment of assets.
Finally, he highlighted that this increase is granted because “we have a great public works plan for the city It will be financed by the national government headed by Alberto Fernández and Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
