“The Night Manager”: High-paying spy series with a star cast
“Loki” star Tom Hiddleston (42) is said to embody the main character Jonathan Pine again. In the first season, the British ex-soldier worked as a night manager in a hotel in Switzerland. The British secret service smuggles him into the inner circle of arms dealer Richard Roper.
The film adaptation of John le Carré’s novel was not only celebrated by the critics. Tom Hiddleston won the Golden Globes for Best Actor in a Miniseries. Best Supporting Actor was Hugh “Dr. House” Laurie (63), who plays Richard Roper. Oscar winner Olivia Colman (49), who portrayed Pine’s contact with the secret service, won the Golden Globe for best supporting actress.
The illustrious cast was supplemented by Elizabeth Debicki (32), who later became a star as Lady Di in “The Crown”. Directed by the Dane Susanne Bier (62), who received the Oscar for the best non-English language film in 2011 with “In a better world”.
