President Alberto Fernández will lead this Friday at 11.30 in the White Room of Casa Rosada the delivery of the distinction to the “Researcher of the Argentine Nation 2021” and the “Houssay”, “Houssay Trayectoria” and “Jorge Sábato” awards to scientists with “Outstanding record in the production of knowledge and development of innovations with a social and productive impact,” it was officially reported.
The president will be accompanied by the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Filmus, and by the head of Conicet, Ana Franchi.
Fernández will deliver the awards for researchers in the areas of Social Sciences; Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Astronomy; Non-Biological Chemistry and Earth, Water, and Atmospheric Sciences; and Biological Sciences and Biochemistry.
The Casa Rosada reported that “the Houssay awards are intended for researchers under 45 years of age and researchers who have not reached the age of 48, who have developed most of their scientific activity in the country. Each winner will receive a medal, a diploma and 300 A thousand pesos”.
Meanwhile, the “Houssay Trajectory” awards correspond to “researchers who are over 45 years old and female researchers over 48, who, depending on the area in which they work, will receive a medal, a diploma and 500 thousand pesos.”
And the “Jorge Sábato” distinction is intended for “researchers without distinction of age, who have an outstanding record in transfers and technological development with economic and productive impact in strategic sectors of the country.
