The Stars win and remain strong in first place

SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS – JEremy Peña drove in three races, Oscar González two and Andy Otero pitched five good innings in the 5-2 victory of the Stars over the Águilas Cibaeñas in a match corresponding to the 2021-2022 autumn-winter baseball tournament held at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium in this city.

The victory allows the Paquidermos (14-9) to remain firm in the first position, one game ahead of the Gigantes del Cibao (13-10), who saw no action yesterday.

Otero faced 20 batters, who connected four hits, scored a run, transferred one and struck out five for his second victory of the championship that is dedicated to the memory of General Kalil Haché Malkum and in which the Banreservas Cup is disputed.

While González linked his two races, one in the third and another in the fourth.

The setback fell to Eagles starter Wendolyn Bautista (3-1).

The Stars will face this Friday against the Leones del Escogido at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium in the Capital from 7:15 at night. The Colombian Reiver Sanmartin is the pitcher designated by the green leader Fernando Tatis for this match.
