A fire broke out in one of the cells in Building III of the Metropolitan Penitentiary Institute on Monday afternoon, the National Penitentiary Command (BVOP) told MTI.
In their statement, they wrote that the fire, which affected about two square meters, was extinguished by prison staff. Firefighters from the Budapest Disaster Management Directorate ventilated the building. The cause of the fire is being investigated in the Venyige Street building. According to the BVOP
three prison staff were taken to hospital by observers for observation.
Due to the smoke, the affected part of the prison was evacuated according to the professional protocol and the necessary measures were taken.
