These are G-7 Leaders’ Wives: Carrie Johnson Debuts on the Global Stage

NEWSWEP.COM, LONDON – Carrie Johnson, the new wife of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, is making her debut on the global stage. He also welcomed US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden to Cornwall, southwest England.

This big event took place just two weeks after she became the First Lady of England, after marrying Boris Johnson.

Carrie, 33, will be in the limelight as she and her husband welcome other G-7 leaders, namely the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and their partners to the G7 summit at Cornwall’s Carbis Bay Hotel.

The Biden and Johnson pair met by the sea in Carbis Bay Thursday, before the wives left for tea together and the two leaders headed for a bilateral meeting.

Carrie Johnson won’t be the only pair to make their first G7 appearance at the summit on Friday.

Jill Biden was also in attendance for the first time, as were Mariko Suga, wife of new Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and Maria Serenella Cappello, wife of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

Brigitte Macron, partner of French President Emmanuel Macron, has attended a series of G-7 meetings and helped host leaders for their last face-to-face meeting in Biarritz in 2019. Although she was Boris Johnson’s boyfriend at the time, Carrie did not attend.

Last year’s G7, which was to be hosted in the US with President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump, was canceled due to the pandemic.

Carrie Johnson’s debut summit in Cornwall, which came just two weeks after she married Boris, received much response from the British media.

What Carrie is wearing in the traditional “family photo” taken as the summit begins Friday will no doubt be watched closely.
