This is how the municipality of Moa was left after the heavy rains on Wednesday

Havana Cuba. – Heavy rains and floods have been registered this Wednesday in the Holguin municipality of Moa, local media in that province report.

The Telecristal channel indicated in its Facebook page that the municipality of Moa had dawned under heavy rain and that the water had covered the streets in some parts of the territory.

According to reports from Internet users, it was raining for hours yesterday night and early today, which caused flooding in the lower areas of the municipality.

David Hernández, a Facebook user, commented that the Holguin authorities “should use state budgets to solve sewerage problems and stop doing image works.”

On November 7, several official media on the island reported similar floods in Moa caused by heavy rains.

The publication on social networks of images of several of the houses affected by the floods caused several users to react negatively and criticize the mismanagement of the local government with respect to sewage systems.

Due to heavy rains and the danger posed by the Cabaña River, the Moa authorities proceeded from this afternoon to the evacuation of citizens residing in the Pedro Sotto Alba neighborhood, also known as the ECRIN 207 neighborhood.

Despite the fact that it is not a rainy season in Cuba, several Internet users on social networks assure that at this time of year, storms are also frequent in municipalities such as Moa.

In addition to receiving abundant rainfall throughout the year, Moa exhibits an abundant hydrographic network, especially to the east, with medium-flow rivers such as Cabaña, Potosí, Jiguaní, Quesigua and Cayo Guam, which run between the mountains of eastern Cuba.
