To the Finlay Institute, the love of the neighborhood ›Cuba› Granma

Transmitters of the pride, affection and admiration of the Cuban people for its scientists, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) delivered this Tuesday, to the Finlay Institute of Vaccines (IFV), the Prize of the Neighborhood, for the self-denial of its collective.

“It is enough to go through the neighborhoods to realize the gratitude of the people, a feeling that transcends ideologies and political differences,” said the Hero of the Republic Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, national coordinator of the CDRs.

Doctor of Sciences Vicente Vérez Bencomo, general director of the IFV, said that the distinction represents the sacrifice, dedication and effort of all the personnel dedicated to this project, which has been the Sovereign vaccine.

At the event, where the National Vanguard flag was also presented, Eulogio Pimentel Vázquez, vice president of the BioCubaFarma business group, said that with Soberana it was possible to close a complex cycle that goes from deep thinking to turning it into scientific essence.

The Barrio Award recognizes cederistas, families, groups and schools with meritorious work based on the people who live in that space, and this year it will be awarded to 14 schools, 17 universities, four families, seven individuals and 12 groups.
