Tonico (Alexandre Nero) will get blood on his hands in the next installments of the six o’clock soap opera. The villain was to kill his accomplice during the kidnapping of Dom Pedro II (Selton Mello) and will confess the crime to Nino (Rafaelle Casuccio), who will be shocked by the deputy in Nos Tempos do Imperador.
Nino is frightened by Tonico in In Times of the Emperor
In scenes set to air on Saturday, December 4, Tonico Rocha will hatch a plan to kidnap Pedro and hand him over to Solano López (Roberto Birindelli) during the Paraguayan War.
To make the plan work, he joins Joel in kidnapping the emperor. However, Pedro is soon rescued by Samuel (Michel Gomes).
Joel will be arrested and Tonico will be afraid of being discovered as the mastermind behind the kidnapping. So that the partner doesn’t hand him over, the deputy kills Joel without even thinking twice.
After getting rid of his accomplice, Tonico will vent to Nino in In Times of the Emperor. “It was the first time I took someone’s life. I’ve always had them done for me, but killing, I’ve never killed,” says Dolores’ husband (Daphne Bozaski). “I don’t know how you got the courage,” Nino will respond.
“It’s over, he’s dead. And it was easier than I thought… It’s actually not bad […] I felt empowered. Taking someone’s life, the person looking at you, begging and you there. Life in your hands. It’s good. Very good”, finished Tonico, scaring his journalist friend.
Later, Tonico will be stabbed and freed from the charges of Pedro’s kidnapping. The emperor will be outraged at Joel’s death: “Who could have done this? How did you get into our camp without anyone having seen it?”, the emperor will ask.
When does the novel end?
The soap opera by Alessandro Marson and Thereza Falcão is scheduled to end in February 2022, totaling six months on the air.
As revealed by Marson, the serial should end in the Paraguay War, which has already started airing during the plot. In the episodes that have been aired in recent days, Solano López declared war on Brazil and Dom Pedro II is calling up soldiers for war.
After the end of Nos Tempos do Imperador, Globo will show Além da Ilusão, starring Rafa Vitti and Larissa Manoela.
