Two men, aged 58 and 73, were arrested for mistreatment of seven dogs in Sonora – 364 kilometers from Campo Grande. According to the police report, the Civil Police arrived at the scene after a complaint.
At the site, the team verified that the seven dogs were in a place without cover and, therefore, they remained in the rain. All animals were thin, without adequate water and food.
Still on the situation in which the animals were found, the police reported that one of them showed signs of scabies and the other of leishmaniasis. Employees of an NGO in the municipality were called upon to rescue the dogs.
Without explaining why the animals were not taken care of, the two men were arrested and taken to the city’s Civil Police Station.
