With the presence of civil and military authorities, students, university managers and related institutions, the Universidad Católica Tecnológica de Barahona (UCATEBA), with its facilities in this municipal district of the municipality of Barahona, celebrated its 26th anniversary with different activities.
In its celebration at Mass In Thanksgiving; UCATEBA
it designates Villa Central street with the name of Mamerto Rivas Santos and they inaugurate Plaza and Commissary.
Through a press release issued by the Public Relations Directorate, UCATEBA indicates that prior to the thanksgiving mass in coordination with the authorities of the District Board, by resolution the Main Street of Villa Central was designated with the name of Monsignor Favio Mamerto Rivas Santos.
It explains that the resolution in question was read by Ana Lucía Almánzar, president of the Council of Members, together with the director of the District Board, Magdalia Medina and the other members.
He states that when addressing those present in the development of the homily, the Bishop of the Diocese of Barahona and Grand Chancellor of UCATEBA, Monsignor Andrés Napoleón Romero Cárdenas, expressed his appreciation for the work carried out by Rev. Dr. Secilio Espinal Espinal , in the fields of education, science and culture during the time that he served as Rector of the house of higher studies.
At the same time, he welcomed the Rev. Fr. Marco Pérez Pérez, who replaced Espinal and will be sworn in on Tuesday, October 19 as the new Rector of UCATEBA, who also wished him success in his efforts.
After the mass, Mons. Romero Cárdenas, together with the outgoing Rector of UCATEBA, Rev. Fr. Dr. Secilio Espinal Espinal and the newly appointed Rector of UCATEBA, Rev. Fr. Marco Pérez Pérez, opened the new Plaza de UCATEBA baptized with the name of “Science is Light”, in addition to the modern Commissary that will provide stationery, printing, copying services, among other services.
