The IRS found a unknown drug at the Post Office Distribution Center in Pinhais, in the Metropoltana region of Curitiba, the shipment arrived from the Netherlands, according to the laboratory of the Department of Chemistry at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR).

After identifying a suspicious package through the scanner, officials activated sniffing dogs that confirmed the presence of an unknown substance in a package. about 1.2kg, which contained the compacted, yellowish solid matter. The reports released on Monday (13) indicated that the package held a kind of synthetic cannabinoid, of a type not described in the scientific literature.

The university has a project in partnership with the Internal Revenue Service in which it uses Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), high and low resolution, for analysis of suspicious materials seized at the Post Office Distribution Center.

In a note released by the Federal Revenue it informed that the substance was found in a shipment of five volumes from Holland to Brazil, which had São Paulo as their destination, on the 26th of August.
