With a record of rejection in the latest polls, the president Jair Bolsonaro was awarded another government medal this Wednesday, at Chamber of Deputies.
According to the most recent Datasheet, of September, Bolsonaro reached the worst approval ratingthat of his term: 53% of Brazilians consider the government to be bad or bad.
The granting of ‘Legislative Merit Medal’ the President of the Republic was nominated by federal deputy Vitor Hugo, leader of the PSL, who justified the tribute for his “exemplary political trajectory in Parliament” and in the defense of public safety, the rights of families and the military.
Among other awards recently received by Bolsonaro are honors such as the Caxias do Sul Award, the Farroupilha Medal of Merit and the Marechal Rondon de Comunicações Award, created by the government this year.
This Wednesday’s ceremony in the Chamber was marked by “genocidal” boos from the opposition benches, countered by a chorus of “myth” by government supporters.
The Chamber’s award aims to recognize the work of authorities, personalities, institutions or entities that have provided relevant services to the Legislative Power or to Brazil.
Each party leader can nominate one recipient and each member of the Board of Directors, two. Among the thirty honorees of this edition are the Pope Francisco and the photographer Sebastião Salgado.
