On this Wednesday (24th) night, São Paulo e Athletico tied 0-0 at Morumbi, for the 34th round of the Brazilian championship. The result keeps the Tricolor close to the relegation zone. Now, there are six points in relation to Bahia, the first team in the Z4. The Bahia Tricolor plays on Friday (26), against Grêmio.

In the interview given to TV Globo on the way out of the field, the defender Miranda regretted the tie and has already called the crowd to the next game: “It’s difficult. It’s regretful, because we wanted to give joy to our fans, who attended and supported us until the end. Unfortunately we didn’t get the victory, but we don’t have time to lower our heads, we have one more decision against Sport. I hope we can return all this affection, all this support from the fans with a victory.”

Tricolor returns to the field next Saturday (27), in front of Sport, in Morumbi, at 21:30 (Brasilia time). The team reached 42 points with the draw this Wednesday (24), and is still threatened by the relegation zone. Superior to Athletico in the match, São Paulo failed to transform ball possession into goalscoring occasions.

The best opportunities came from Rigoni’s feet, still in the first stage. The Argentine kicked twice from outside the area and, in both, the ball passed close to Santos’ goal. In the second half, Rigoni also arrived with danger, but sinned at the time of submission. Afterwards, the Tricolor had only one header by Pablo, in the final stretch of the match.
