Where is the State going in the challenge of the energy transition

It is true that also in the world, situations are observed today that were not foreseen before the pandemic declared in March 2020, it seems that it accelerated natural processes, which we had pending.

Such is the case of pollution resulting from the combustion of fossil fuels, mostly coal, oil and natural gas, in order to generate energy, but also to manufacture useful elements for humanity.

The use of fossil fuels allowed our society worldwide to reach the standard of living that we have today.

But nevertheless, the benefit of energy consumption from these fuels, we have learned that it has impacted our environment.

Which currently forces us to think about the development of clean energy from resources from the sun, wind and others that do not increase the aforementioned impact on the environment.

So, we are in a stage called “Energy Transition ”, in order to minimize impacts that today are translated as climate changes, which plague our planet.

At this point, to my humble understanding, Some points to be analyzed must be kept in mind in order to later visualize actions for the future that must be agreed upon worldwide.

In the first place, it is known that for development, energy is necessary, and in this sense in the world, there is a sector of developed countries that used from firewood, coal, then hydrocarbons, nuclear energy, etc.

There are also other countries that consumed energy from existing resources, but that are much smaller in scale than developed countries.

Finally, there is a step of countries, which have not been able to meet their energy demands, so they do not have adequate development.

In recent decades, the world has had an obligatory agenda of issues related to caring for the environment, whose resolutions and agreements are difficult to reach consensus on, especially to later put into practice.

At this stage, we do not find in the world, and in turn aggravated by the existing pandemic, that we take extreme care among human beings, but at the same time enabling other developments, in some cases unthinkable, for example the degree of progress in Iartificial intelligence (AI).

However, this technological advance poses another challenge for us, since its support or sustenance is based on minerals as well as liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons that we know today.

It is known that Argentinaa, has an energy matrix, based on hydrocarbons almost 90 percent, for several decades, in turn has a low share of Coal.

That within the consumption of hydrocarbons it was migrating from liquids to gaseous ones, a very beneficial issue at present due to the possibility of having a very important source of gas in the exploitation of the Vaca Muerta Formation.

However we are in our country, that a part of society shows its discontent with the exploitation or exploration of both minerals and hydrocarbons, as we have recently been able to observe in various media.

This is where it seems to me that the State, both National and Provincial, must have a detailed vision of the situation of exploitation, exploration of its riches, with the goal is to define the paths to follow to fulfill these tasks while minimizing environmental impacts.

Understanding that the exploitation of the same requires important/extensive deadlines, both for the tasks that they involve as well as for obtaining economic benefits, mounting around a countless number of activities necessary to activate those resources.

Thus, the State is the one that brings together and organizes different acts to achieve the objectives, in different jurisdictions, which can be provincial as well as municipal.

Here is the importance of the organization of the set of institutions, which make up a State, because before society, it seems invisible and enormous, bringing as a consequence their weakness.

The people who are part of it must understand the objective of the sector of the State in which they find themselves, since they are the executors of the norms that regulate society, thus giving the necessary speed to the bureaucracy of that State.

In this way, to successfully carry out the path of the Energy Transition, our next steps must be the most analyzed and consequently planned, that is the fundamental mission of the State, who must analyze and project rules, in accordance with the trends that are occurring in the world, in order to carry out appropriate and necessary steps, since we do not have independence as we are living on a single planet.

Lastly, this transition is a EVOLUTION, in which education and communication are needed, forcing themselves to have excellence in educators and communicators, an issue that the State must guarantee.

The panorama is complex, but no one says that it was easy, only the intelligence of man will be able to overcome obstacles, just as he has done since he left the caves until these days.
