Like the Chinese newspaper The Paper and other media unanimously reported that the woman’s family arranged for the woman on a date with a man who invited her to their home for dinner to meet them.

A sudden corona lockdown in the city of Zhengzhou ensured that the woman could no longer leave the man’s apartment.

She then started posting videos of the longest first date of her life that were shared a million times.

The woman was stuck in the apartment for several days since January 9th. How long she had to stay there was unclear.

The last video for the time being, which showed both of them having a hot pot meal, was published by the woman on Wednesday. Despite the closeness and a lot of time to talk, it apparently didn’t ignite between the two of them.

Everything is pretty good, but the man is “as mute as a wooden doll,” the woman described his behavior in her videos. His food is “mediocre”. But it’s great that he cooks for her at all.

The man himself did not have a say in the videos.

The woman said she had traveled back to her hometown of Zhengzhou from the city of Guangzhou, some 1,000 kilometers away, in order to meet ten men at the request of her family. Out of consideration for her date – number five – she has already deleted some of her videos.

China has a strict zero corona policy. Several large cities have been sent into a total lockdown due to individual corona cases.
