According to the 38-year-old, he is open to offers during the winter transfer window.

Former footballer of the Russian national team Yuri Zhirkov said that he had no desire to end his professional career.
“In principle, it would be possible to play another year, for sure. When you get injured, you always want to come back. ” stated 38-year-old Zhirkov in an interview on the YouTube channel “Sychev podcast and Denis Kazansky.”
According to the footballer, it is open to suggestions in the winter. “It was not possible to get into this transfer window somewhere,” Zhirkov noted.

He also spoke about the progress of recovery from an injury sustained at Euro 2020. “I had a fairly serious injury – a complete detachment of the hamstring muscle. Recovery takes at least three to four months. Now I train individually, in recent weeks there have been no painful sensations, ”added the footballer.
Zhirkov during his career played for Spartak Tambov (2001-2003), CSKA (2004-2009), Chelsea (2009-2011), Anji (2011-2013), Dynamo Moscow (2013-2015) and Zenit (2016–2021). As part of the Russian national team, he played 104 matches and scored two goals. He is a five-time Russian champion and a bronze medalist at the European Championship (2008).
His contract with Zenit expired this summer, and the player is now a free agent. Zhirkov is announced for the Aminevo amateur club.
